മൺറോ തുരുത്ത് അറിയേണ്ടതെല്ലാം -Munroe Island in Yathra | മണ്‍റോ തുരുത്ത്

]>കൊല്ലം ജില്ലയിൽ അഷ്ടമുടിക്കായലിനും കല്ലടയാറിനും ഇടയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു ദ്വീപസമൂഹമാണ് മൺറോ തുരുത്ത് 

 Monroe Island is an archipelago located between Ashtamudi Lake and Kallada river in Kollam district. 

 തിരുവിതാംകൂറിലെ പഴയ റെസിഡന്റ് ആയിരുന്ന കേണല്‍ മണ്‍റോയുടെ പേരിലാണ് ഈ തുരുത്ത് അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്. 

 The island is named after Colonel Monroe, a former resident of Travancore. 

 ചെറുതോടുകളും, കായലും, കനാലുകളും പരസ്പരം വേര്‍തിരിക്കുന്ന ദ്വീപുകള്‍ തെങ്ങിന്‍ തോപ്പുകളുടെയും മത്സ്യ സമ്പത്തിന്റെയും കേന്ദ്രമാണ്. 

 The islands, which are separated by small streams, lakes and canals, are home to coconut groves and fisheries. In 1878, the Dutch established a church here. This Dutch church is known as one of the oldest churches in Kerala. The church is still located on the beautiful shores of Ashtamudi Lake as a fine example of Dutch-Kerala architectural style. 

 മൺറോതുരുത്ത്‌ പഞ്ചായത്തിന്റെ അതിരുകൾ വടക്കുകിഴക്കു ഭാഗത്ത് കിഴക്കേക്കല്ലട പഞ്ചായത്തും കിഴക്കുഭാഗത്ത് പേരയം പഞ്ചായത്തും, തെക്കുഭാഗത്ത് പെരിനാട് പഞ്ചായത്തും, തെക്കുപടിഞ്ഞാറു ഭാഗത്ത് തെക്കുംഭാഗം പഞ്ചായത്തും, പടിഞ്ഞാറുഭാഗത്ത് തേവലക്കര പഞ്ചായത്തും, വടക്കുഭാഗത്ത് പടിഞ്ഞാറേ കല്ലട പഞ്ചായത്തുമാണ്. 

 Monroe Island is bordered by East Kallada Panchayat on the northeast, Perayam Panchayat on the east, Perinad Panchayat on the south, Thekkumbhagam Panchayat on the southwest, Thevalakkara Panchayat on the west and Kallada Panchayat on the west.
